Freebird by MoMo...quilted by Charisma
Well 2 summers ago ( I think) I made this "Cheater" quilt.
The center piece is one cut of fabric...I loved it so much I couldn't cut it. I bought a fat quarter pack of the whole line as well. .....but this center piece I just fell in love ...so I added 2 borders.
I knew what I lacked in piecing I could make up for in quilting.
So I pinned this on a few days before Christmas ...hoping I could work on it a bit here and there....( I have two frames) In between customer quilts.
As I was deciding how I wanted to quilt this....I took in each element of the fabric and wanted to highlight it and give it life.
I was also reflecting on my life..the year..the new year...So I quilted in some important words to me...God ( he is in everything for me!) But also, Joy, Peace, Kiss , Hug, LOve, Faith, Hope..Pray...there are others as well...
I wanted this to be a relaxing, easy ..come and go as I please kind of a project so everythig is freehand. I thought about doing ruler work and changed my mind because of the relaxing factor..hehe.
so this is my labor of love for the week. The quilting in the outer border consists of fill in work..all the stitching is in the red areas..around all the elements in the border. I quilted straight lines in the small inner border.
If any of you have any questions..please feel free to ask..I think this has been only only personal project in quite some months and it was nice to be able to have freedom.....I love the name of this line of fabric Freebird.
I hope you all have a wonderful New year!

Absolutely stunning. Your work is always the best. You really know how to design the quilting to do justice to the beautiful fabric. I see why you couldn't cut that piece. I couldn't have either. It came out beautiful.

I am amazed at your talent. This has to be difficult, but you make it look like so much fun. I see a gazillion starts and stops (do they need to be tied off each time?) and your stitching is so precise!! You know by now how much I love your work and I love the way you put feeling into every thing you do. It is a beautiful thing you do, Charisma. May you always enjoy your talent and keep it up for many years. You bring joy to all of us with your work.
