Freestyle Quilt with appliques and hand quiltung

    Hi there!

I made a quilt as a x-mas gift to my sister and BIL and made it just in time.
This is how it all started: (Looks very boring, huh? - BTW I didn't use the light brown fabrig on the right side. This one didn't fit.)

Then I spend several month with handsewing the appliques and doing the handquilting
    and this is the result.
    It is about 100X100 inches.

Wow - quite a transformation from the fabrics to the finished top. I never would have picked those colors to go together and they look fabulous!
A fabric stash is always missing that one fabric needed to finish the quilt on which you're working.

No, there is no pattern. I cut the blocks to the size of 30X30 inches, designed the appliques, then decided what kind of borders and so on. It was all a surprise to me of how the quilt grew and how it looked after the next step.

I love the use of the solid fabrics in this quilt pattern. Your applique is beautiful.
