gathering pictures of quilt i made since joining(IRIS ) quilt mother-in-law
i have been trying to use new blocks or techniques that i have learned through this site.thank-you for your encouragement to think outside of the box .
my begining ingredience for this special quilt for my mother-in-law (IRIS) name and favorite flower
shades of purple /favorite bird the hummingbirds
some fabrics are hard to find ,savanger other techniques to make the design.
appliqued a few iris blocks found some great puple shade and found some super hummingbird fabric
blocks to use for centers
first time to make iris applique block up worked up iris fabric print was hard for me to find at the time
and butterflies always go with flowers and free spirits
so that is how this quilt came about.
thank-you all.

As a garden, purple, bird-loving, free spirit - I LOVE it. Great colours, interesting design and the border treatment is just fantastic. Very cleverly put together and a total one-off. Thanks so much for sharing with us.
