Gender neutral pinwheels and prairie points

Why does everything have to be gender neutral? Ok, i understand that there is not going to be a gender reveal so choosing colors that are seen as safe makes sense but even when the gender is known...the neutral continues.
Very pretty quilt and the pattern and colors are very nice....I just question all of the gender neutral stuff. but,, perhaps as a society we p, are kept confused as to gender identification .

Congratulations on your feathers -they are a sight to behold! Great work, great colors, great quilt. I have just taken the FMQ plunge after 40 years of hand quilting and can't wait to do things like this. Hurray for you!
