    Default Georgia Bonesteel

Hi all. Hope you had a good Thanksgiving. The week before Thanksgiving I went to the John C Campbell Folk School in NC. https://www.folkschool.org/ I took a week long class from Georgia Bonesteel, of Lap Quilting with Georgia Bonesteel Fame. Most of you older quilters will remember her from ETV. She was one of the first to teach quilting on TV. She was great on TV and is even better in person. The class I took is call Scrap Soup. Georgia is writing a new book that should be out in about a year and this pattern should be in it. Anyway enought rambling. Here is a picture of my quilt and a group pic of all of ours. There were 12 of us in the class. Of course there was one over acheiver that finished her top, there always is one. LOL

Well the first pic is side ways. Cant figure out why, I changed it in my program. The little green lables are the row numbers, so I wont get them mixed up. All of these strips are now sewn together. I am half way finished with a queen size quilt.

    Happy Quilting, Vicki

Oh how I would love to go to Campbell folk school in SC but probably will not happen, What fun you all must have had and made new friends. Interesting mix of colors on this unusual pattern.

Thanks, was so much fun. No cooking, just quilting. Forgot to say that the back ground on mine is a scrappy mix of Navy and very dark gray, almost black.

Oh Vickie, how wonderful that you got to spend a whole week with her. Guess I am an oldie, she is first tv quilter I remember, and boy was (is) she famous. I have heard of that school and always wished I could treat dh to a week long class there, now I have added myself to that dream....

What a lovely way to learn to do a pattern. I think you just made me green with envy. It sounds like fun and a great learning experience. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for sharing your experience with us. It sounds like it was a fun learning experience. I especially like the no cooking part. It seems like just when I'm really getting into something, it's time to fix something for some meal. But hubby generally fixes breakfast so I can't complain.
