I spent the last three days fmq-ing away, and have the Giant Dahlia for my SIL all quilted! woohoo! I had planned on getting the binding put on tonight, but, alas, the fabric I was going to use from my stash was so old it had turned brittle. I don't have enough of any other fabric to use for the binding, so it will have to wait until I tomorrow to buy some fabric for the binding. But I just couldn't wait to share!

I don't have the best lighting, so I hope the quilting shows up. I went wild practicing feathers everywhere, lol. I absolutely love the curved dresden border. I appliqued the dahlia and the border onto a white sheet, and backed it with a lilac flannel sheet, both of which I picked up at the thrift shop. I used W&N for batting.

For those who don't already know, I wanted every petal in the center dahlia to be a different fabric. I posted a request here on the board a few months ago when I realized I didn't quite have enough fabrics. I cannot express enough thanks to my fellow board members who generously shared in their scraps for this project.
