What a wonderful gift, can't wait to see how you finish the quilt. I make quilts for our family reunions every 2 years and one year I made a Dresden Plate in beautiful blue fabrics sent to me by my family. My pickiest brother, who also happened to win the quilt told me it was my best quilt ever and it would be hard to top it. I'm thinking of making one for my DS and DD IL for their king size quilt, but need to find out if I have the colors right for the bedroom they just repainted.

I was very new to quilting when I saw a basket of hand-quilted Dresden plates. I was too intimidated to buy them at the time, and now I could kick myself. I have pictured a sweet little farm lady who just hadn't had the time to make them into a quilt before she passed on. (I make up stories like that regularly) :-).

What a beauty you'll have when they're stitched together. Enjoy!
