No stencil, just freehand. Working out from the spiral at the center, I quilted a 5-petaled flower and then just echoed that 3 more times. I quilted ribbons on the seams between the blocks.

So pretty for a special little girl. What is the pattern name, where to find?
Does it use only 5 -6 fabrics?

So precious. It is always so touching to see the design and workmanship put in to these quilts made for a total stranger. Certainly the caring and love that went in to this piece will transfer to her spirit.

I used 6 fabrics but you could use 8. Mine was all scrap except the bright pink tonal. I made half the blocks starting with a dark center and half starting with a light center, and then put them together alternating like a checkerboard. It's the only way I could make sure I had enough fabric.

The pattern is Courthouse Steps. It's a Log Cabin variation.
