Golden Oak Applique
#22
This quilt is gorgeous and your quilting is the icing on the cake. I do tons of blanket stitch applique and in my experience you will get a very small of amount of fray between stitches, but that is the extent of it. Take a deep breath and revel in your accomplishment and this beauty.

Thank you! I tend to be really matchy matchy, so I usually go towards a consistent background, but I the pattern for this quilt was done with the different backgrounds and for some reason the lightbulb went on for me. I figured no reason the backgrounds have to match on an applique right?

Absolutely STUNNING!
This is my first full size applique quilt. It's twin size. I used fusible web to attach the applique and then a blanket stitch to secure. I can see a bit of fray on some of the leaves, so I a bit concerned how it will wear. Each quilt I make I learn something new so I guess if it does fray, the next time I'll use a zig zag stitch. Anyway, I am very happy with this one. Thanks for looking.

Your quilt is stunning.!! I love each block and how things are put on point. Your quilting is perfect. Congratulations! I think only you will see any problem with the applique. No one else is going to take note of it. Thank you for sharing this very pretty quilt.
