I have my 13 and 14 year old grand daughters tonight. the younger one wanted me to help her do a seahorse for her bestie friend.. so she made a pattern.. cut it out... pinned it to fabric.. cut again.. and ..............SEWED for the first time ever... she has been done for about an hour and a half and is still in there playing with the machine and wriiting her name and straight stitching.. amazing and makes me smile the "pudding" smile..
the 14 year old is making some crazy bear and she did the same thing under the directions of the 13 year old.. cousins..got to love them.. andyways the 14 year old wanted to hand stitch her bears face on.. so in this picture...that is what she is concentrating on.. and yes she sewed also... amazing as well and yes ...she too gave me a "pudding face" !!!!

here is just straight stitching with her name...

The girls are darling and their projects are wonderful. Make sure to get a picture of you sewing along side them so that they can remember this time with you years from now. :)

Can't wait for my grand-daughter can sew. I already bought her a sewing machine, just waiting for her to get old enough.

Swwet, I remember being realy young and using the sewing machine, I think My Mother at the time wish she probably had two sewing machines, because I always wanted to use it for some "SPECIAL" project! Cudos to you and to your grandaughters, they did fabulous work!!

I remember sewing with my Gramma. My mom was an excellent seamstress and made most all of our clothes, but Gramma had the patience. She just let us have at it, with gentle guidance. Those are that best memories.

I so hope that my little grand daughter is crafty and wants to learn to sew. She just turned a year old a couple of weeks ago, so I have a wait. But I am so looking forward to helping her and hopefully inspiring her to love sewing as much as I do.

So much fun to teach the grandaugters. I have my 13 yr old sewing when she come to my house. My 16 yr old lives with us and so far she has made some clothes and a purse. They really enjoy our time together but then I do too!!
