Two of my three granddaughters and one grandson have made snap bags so far. (Oh, and one friend who was visiting from out of state came too) We don't call them purses so as not to be gender specific. Nick wanted to make one, so we altered it to be deeper for school supplies. He calls it his duffle bag. No shoulder strap, just a short wrist strap. And his is black denim and lined with Elvis print (his choice!)

The two girls together are GD Rachel (taller) and 11 y/o and her BFF Katie. Katie moved to WV at the end of the school year and was back for a visit. They are modeling their snap bags.

GD in pic alone is Sarah, who started this project. She is my shadow in the studio, loves doing crafts and will likely be a stitcher too! Sarah is a triplet; sister and brother have not yet made their bags. Nick's next project will be a pillowcase of pirate fabric.

Poohbearie: A word of caution...in January of 2001 we had one grand daughter, almost 2 y/o. I complained to my friends of only having one grandbaby. By the end of February 2001, we had 5 grands! Nick was born on the 10th at full term, and the triplets were born on the 27th at 26 weeks gestation. Life got rather crazy for a while. Trips were in the hospital in NICU until June, when Sarah came home. Then Ryan 2 wks. later, and Emma on July 18th. They weighed 1# 6 ozs at birth. They've come a long way! So I am now careful what I wish for! ;)

Very cute! What a great skill for them to learn and then to reap the reward of it.

Going out to make one for my s-i-l who wants to use it to protect the greeting cards she buys on the way home. I guess for the price they charge, you had better make sure nothing gets on them or wrinkles them!

Such happy looking kids, doing hands on things like this can mean so much more than a soon forgotten store bought gift.
