I just finished this full-size Grandma's Flower Garden quilt tonite. My 80 yr old aunt hand-pieced this during the 50s or 60s and gave it to me about 10 yrs ago

I added the border so that it will fit a full-size bed (my bed is queensize)

She doesn't know i finished it, i'm going to take it to her over President's day weekend

    on my bed

It is lovely. So awesome that you could finish it for her. Did you hand quilt it? in a hoop or frame?

my aunt thinks that this has become another UFO !!!! Won't she be surprised!!!

The other quilt i finished for her, she said she was disappointed that it didn't fit her bed. That's why i added the border on it.

That is beautiful. She will be so proud. Did you do hand quilting? Looks like you did and what a great job. Beautiful colors she used.

Gorgeous! I love the way you did your borders!

I'm starting on my 6th flower and your quilt gives me a lot of inspiration!

yes, i hand quilted it. My aunt pieced the center in the 50s or 60s...and i added the border in 2010. Gotta love those reproduction fabrics!

She told me once that it is an honor for her to look at a quilt and know that we worked on it together.
