Default Grandmother's Flower Garden quilted for my cousin

My aunt hand-pieced a GFG top as a gift for my cousin's wife, back around 2000. My aunt has since passed on. My cousin's wife recently found out that I do quilting, and asked if I'd try to finish the quilt. I was eager to give it a try. She ordered the backing and also sent me some solids that she figured she'd never use. I added the border, as I did not have any desire to try to do a binding around all the hexies, and used the solids she sent to make the triangles in the border.

Here it is before quilting:

Then I loaded it on my LA and had a blast putting different designs in each flower. I tried to make the border look like a picket fence around the "garden".

Here's one corner:

and here are some of the flowers:

LOVE how you put a different design in each flower. Really adds a lot of interest and movement to some of them. I also really like that put a tight fill in the "background" hexis to get the flowers to pop up off the surface. I am sure your cousin in law is absolutely thrilled with the finish. I know I would be.
