    Great Horned Owl Art Quilt

Love using scraps for backgrounds of my art quilts, and thread painting the main subject, in this case an owl.

I love that! We have a family of screech owls that nest & raise youngsters every year...needless to say, I love owls. You did a fantastic job.

fabulous use of your scraps. Do you fuse those down? Also love your use of an actual branch with the 3D leaves coming off of it.

We listened to a game warden talk about owls. Very interesting. I just heard of a person who put up an “owl box” and immediately he got a Great Horned Owl take up residence. They keep the rodent population in check.

Marvelous! Did you have a pattern or work from a picture or just create your own?

Great owl! Do you piece the back or use an adhesive and attach the scraps to a whole piece of fabric? Good use of scraps.
