I found this panel, called Greeting the Moon," for $6 at a quilt show several years ago, and finally decided to do something with it. Came up with this layout. For quilting, it's got several colors of glide thread, silver metallic, gold metallic, and even some variegated (in the swirls). Oh! and I got sneaky ... my outer border thread is glide 60 mocha, but my travel stitches over the black part showed a lot. So I got a black sharpie and colored over them .. worked great!

I've finished with a black binding since taking these pictures.

Very pretty. I have used a black sharpie to cover lines, too.

Beautiful. Aren't cranes supposed to signify longevity/fidelity in Japanese culture?
