Didja ever have a quilt that seemed to be working out beautifully and then it just goes kablooie on ya?

I joined a Guild back in March and they were working on a BOM - so I got caught up and got the last block finished the other day - then it comes time to put it together and I think gremlins showed up in my sewing room.

First of all, I like to hang my WIPs on the clothesline and take pictures and print them out - which is a good thing, because I did that with this yesterday and last night while looking at the picture I realized that one of the half-triangle blocks in the Jacob's ladder was turned wrong :!:
So had to rip that out and fix it -

Then it just doesn't seem as 'nice' as I want it to be... but it's as nice as it's going to get!

I'm going to take this 'out' to get it quilted - it's huge and I have no desire to fight with it (anymore)

This is a Religious themed BOM, with huge blocks (15") Some of mine wound up only 14.5 so I outlined each block and then trimmed to 16"... made it a whole lot easier to do the sashing...
I really like the star sashing - it's easy and looks really dramatic..

This is the "Journey" fabric from Hancock's...... so I said the quilt is for a "Spiritual Journey"

I haven't seen that fabric at my Hancock's. It really looks nice, you'll probably like it better when it comes home quilted! As far as I can tell you did a good job, and it is very pretty.

This is a beautiful quilt! I know how you feel, though. If a quilt starts to give you trouble, you're just not as fond of it as you might be. By the time it comes back from the quilter you will have forgotten the pain of "birthing" it, and I'm sure you'll love what the quilter does!
