Happy belated birthday!!! It was my birthday to. I also bought my own present. Some new dies for my studio cutter.

Though mom did buy me a native american doll and then they took me and hubby out to dinner.

Sorry you had such a miserable day.

Hanging on to the hope that someone will acknowledge our birthday, making it special for us, gives others such power over our emotions! Take the power back. Instead of shopping for fabric as a "have to do something" action, why not plan ahead? Save a dollar a day in a cookie jar and go shopping on your birthday! You might be surprised at the reacton you get from others when they realize you're not depending on them for a good day.

That said, I'm really glad you salvaged your birthday! Here's hoping for a better one next year -- one that you've planned for yourself!

Singing "Happy Birthday" to you! I know the fabric purchase made you feel better, shoes do that for me! lol.
So consider this your birthday party and a shower of friends, happiness and smiles for the next year!

I used to feel sorry for myself on my birthday. Then I just came out and said its my birthday soon and theres a party...dinner. They all said I thought you didn't want to celebrate, you never said anything. If you don't tell them they can't read your mind...tell them how u feel. If they don't come through...give them hell

Happy Belated Birthday!!! I always say "I am not in charge of anyone's happiness and they are not responsible for mine". I like buying my own gifts and I do it several times through out the year. I always get such wonderful things.
