the way the stars are separately framed is a great idea for sashing.

It is all the same pattern, I just vary the color placement on each block. I am trying to make each one different. If you need more specifics let me know. Or are you talking about the big star? It is just an 8 point star that I drew out on grid paper to use half square triangles. I don't want to attempt diamonds.
