I vote hand quilting. Lots of people still do it, it's relaxing, and there's no timeframe to finish it, so why not?

Handquilting for me. Most traditional would be either hanging diamonds or stitch in the ditch.

You have a good friend. Since it looks so vintage, I would hand quilt it but you do such a great job with your machine quilting that you will make it look even better.

Don't hate me, but what about tying it? That would be more in keeping with the hand stitched top.

You do such beautiful quilting, but I would have it hand quilted. This is such a treasure, and hand stitched should be hand quilted, IMHO.

Eddie has done some wonderful machine quilting on old tops. He might be a good sounding board for you.
