Hand-quilted old sewing machine wall hanging & hung
#1
I know I posted pictures when I finished piecing this wall hanging, but now I've totally finished hand quilting it and it's hung in my sewing room. Using variegated thread, I did some echo quilting for the background, a cable chain around the border, and a floral pattern on the machines, stitching in the ditch around the perimeter of them. I was really happy at the look of it when I hung it over a book case with a cute green 185 on it. Makes my sewing room feel even more cozier. Please turn a blind eye to my junk in the pictures. ;) I've been too busy quilting. ha ha
Because my hubby doesn't like me to put holes in the walls of our new home, I actually made a hanging sleeve & split it in the middle (doing 2 separate ones with a gap in the middle) and used one of those detachable metal hooks hung with a sticky-thing so I can just pull it right off if I want. I used a thinner wooden dowel and was able to just place it on the hook. Worked great.
