Thanks everyone for your nice comments! To answer a question, it was not hard to make. Applique is my first love, so it was right up my alley. I had some hankies from my recently passing MIL and decided to make all the kids and grandkids one of these to remember her by. This was the first one. I have several more to go! But I like to keep hand work around for when I can't be near my machine!

This is perfect. I have many, many hankies that my Grandmothers crocheted the edges on. You have given me the best idea yet to make a hankie quilt. Make many blocks like this and it will be just perfect. Thank you.

Love it, and it makes a nice keepsake that isn't lost in a drawer.

Nice idea! I have a colllection of hankies from my great grandmother..... how do you clean them before using them in a quilt?

    coachmatthewsvhs,

I just washed them in the washing machine in cold water with a little regular laundry detergent. After that, they all needed ironing! But for the most part, they did just fine.

    Lovely quilt!
A dog is not "almost human" and I know of no greater insult to the canine race than to describe it as such.
