Default Hash-Tag Quilts

The larger quilt goes to my 15-year-old granddaughter and I'm keeping the other one. The tutorial is from The Missouri Star Quilt Company. However, instead of using 1.5" cut strips, I used 2" strips. Now here is the sad part. I did a lot of the piecing at night and didn't notice that my Kona Solids (Snow) were from two different dye lots! In the daytime, the color difference was so evident! In retrospect, I should have ripped out the mistakes. Live and learn, I guess! - Nancy Kastenholz

that is lovely. white, cream, beige, all the same in quilting world. don't fret, they all go together in the long run.

As she gets older, she'll appreciate it more and more because she'll know you were human. It will be more meaningful than if it were perfect.

Beautiful quilts, I can't notice the difference.

Great quilts! I did quilt with 2 different dye lots of black and although it was very noticeable after quilting, the difference was less noticeable after washing.

Nicely done...you’ll probably be the only one to know the difference years down the road.

I don't use solids if I can help it, rather tone-on-tone so it doesn't matter as much. Once quilted and washed you'll probably never notice the color difference. Just be glad you got them done and can now enjoy them. Good job!!!!

the pictures of the quilts are great. You did a wonderful job on both of them. I for one don't see the difference in the dye lots. I am sure you can when close up but not from the distance.. they will be much loved for sure. Thanks for sharing.

Personally I never would have thought about there being two different dye lots. In the long run it really won't matter, as I'm sure your granddaughter will love the quilt you worked so hard on. I'll have to look up the tutorial for the Hashtag quilt...it looks fun to make.
