A couple years ago I made a little crib quilt for a baby at church. His Mom didn't want anything not all boy, so I designed a patchwork with applique of construction vehicles for the quilt and matching bumper pads.

This week the family is out of state on vacation, and they sent a pic of the little boy, with the quilt he won't sleep without.

I was really pleased to see it is holding up, and that it is so loved. It makes all the hard work worth it, to see that smiling face.

What a perfect quilt for a little guy! My boys would have been crazy about that when they were little. Your own design?

Basically, my own design I had seen a quilt with the basic patchwork layout for the blocks, so I just drew them up to the size I wanted, according to the scraps I had in my stash, then drew up all the vehicles. The bumper had other vehicles on it, in different colors, and some patchwork 4 square on point. The quilting was free motion, in tool shapes, hammer, nails, wrench, screw, etc. Can't remember what all. It was so fun to do.
