Have you ever seen a quilt or blanket in a magazine and just had to have it? But instead of buying it, you made it yourself?

I found this really cute quilt in Pottery Barn Teen (PB Teen) and fell in love with this one quilt that I saw in there. But they want 180 dollars for it... so now I'm on a mission to find similar fabrics to the one used in the blanket.

Even if all I find is something similar I'll be happy! It's the flower pattern that will be the search! Thanks!

I hope I can. The blue and the green for sure I can find similar, maybe even the rings, but the flowers is a little difficult... but I'm looking... wish I knew their fabric distributor.

I'm thinking about a yard or a yard and a half. Thank you for keeping an eye out, let me know if you find it! Or something similar.

Try looking in the Batiks for the right colors, then the strips could be painted or hand embroidered on the flowers if you had to, or maybe you'll find the right color with a different design that would work. You don't have to duplicate it exactly, do you? I'll be watching to see what you come up with. Very nice.

It will cost you $180 to make it, but of course, you get the pleasure of a job well done as well.

    LOVE those colours!

Nope doesn't have to be exact. Just hoping to find things that are similar...

did they have pillowcases in the flower print? That would give you the pieces for the quilt?

If you wait and watch, a lot of times Pottery Barn stuff goes on sale. Course it may be popular and sell out before it goes on sale. But you can put making it on the back burner as a second plan.

They have a sheet set which includes the pillow cases, but I don't want to pay 49 dollars for sheets that will just be cut up... that and I heard you should not use sheets for a quilt...

Go to one of the large online fabric stores and search "large floral" and you should find something.

Sheet fabric doesn't really work well for quilts. It's a totally different thread count. You can use them for backs, but I don't recommend for tops.

Don't you think if you get the colors right, the print won't really matter? That would be one way to make it "yours." Good luck in your search.

Now you're thinking! Great idea, I might have to do this. Many quilts I have seen and loved, now I am inspired to make instead of buy.
