You mean the gray/brown colored wooden fence (or maybe it is the side of a shed/barn/chicken coop) that is behind the girl is not part of the quilt? Pretty sure that is what Chester the Bunny is talking about.

OH, I'm sorry.....YES, the wood fence is the background of the quilt. It was created and quilted first, then the girl and the rooster was created and applied to the fence.
