I have had such fun making up this lap quilt. I decided to 'go for it' braving a little more variety from the meandering/stippling free motion! PHEW that was scarey...but I decided so WHAT if my lines are wobbly and my flowers squiffy, I DID it!!

I found the most perfect fluffy fleece for the backing...sadly it bearded up in the quilting, I have had a hell of a time with a pair of tweezers trying to get the fluff out, unfortunately the colours are quite strong on the back and show up like I have used variagated thread...lessons learnt..no more fluffy fleece for backing, no matter how cosy they are to snuggle up. I worked too hard on this top and it is spoiled a bit now Boo Hoo!!

Anyway, still have the binding to do, but couldn't resist showing you all the quilting :D

    I trapunto'd the heart too!

Haha...I was watching a demo on Utube for the Gracie II frame with the Janome 1600DXP.... it looks amazing, with a stitch regulator and pantographs...oh I am in heaven just thinking bout it..

I need to win the lottery to extend our conservatory...I WILL still need to sleep unless I get one of those Captain beds and then it can fit underneath...ooops don't think that will work as we have sloping ceilings in the bedroom tee hee!!

Oh thank you so much..I was petrified that I would ruin it..I tried to make it look like the 3D pinwheels were spinning LOL

I still have some 'Hello Kitty' buttons to sew in the centre of the pinwheels too which will make the fins pop up a bit more too..but that's tomorrows job with the binding

    :D

I think your work is fantastic--and you're right...there's a certain satisfaction knowing the quilt is all yours.
