for me, it's a bit busy, but it will be on the back, so won't be seen.

It is busy. Do the colors and fabric prints coordinate with the front? It would be a very hard print for me to work with.

I like it - it reflects the western fabric that is used in the DWR.

As a backing its fine, especially since it carries the western theme. It's busier than I would choose, but as MTS said, it would be a nice surprise when you turn down the bed. But you may need a layer of batting and one layer of a good quality white flannel to be sure you can't see the colors from the back on the front. I'd use the cactus green on the back (as long as it 'goes' with the green that's next to the navy) for the binding.

I really like the fabric. I would just be really carefull that it does not show through and that it does not bleed. Remember there is no quilt police.
