    great quilt. have you thought about using fabric paint to change his expression? maybe turn up his moutha little, or soften his eyes.

    I think if you change the line of his mouth, into a slight curve it will soften his look.

    Do you have a small white comma painted in the black of the eye. That sometimes softens a glare. Use a fine brush or a pointed toothpick.
