I love the idea you have to alternate the colors and use the think outside the box pattern. I think it will be wonderful. I say go for it.

I just found a new book called "City Quilts" by Cherri House. It has beautiful 'modern quilts' in it that do not appear too difficult.
I borrowed the book from my library, which I do quite often. That way I can decide whether I want to purchase the book or just make one quilt from it.

There is a new book out called Quilts Made Modern. You will find lovely designs in it which do look beautiful. Hope you can find it. I have already made the quilt on the cover and am ready to make the one with circles on it. Lots of luck finding a modern pattern you like.

I've seen some "Shadow Box" quilts members have made, and they look very modern.

I never thought of the library before. Great idea! I saw a book the other day in a LQS and saw it was an older book but they still wanted $25 for it. Went home and found it on Amazon for 4.95...and zero shipping (since we get Prime shipping)...I know it cost more that $5 just in fuel expenses to get the book to me...what a great deal! But I will check out the Library next time I go into town.

Here is one, and I think it would look lovely in the fabrics you have. This is a baby quilt but I have done it in larger sizes and it is wonderful.
