THis is the Chrysanthemum. I've worked at it all day. A lot of cutting.

I actually said "Oh wow!" aloud when I saw the pic.

That's amazing. How complicated is the pattern? I'm still a novice, but I really, really like that.

THAT has got to be the prettiest block I've seen in a long time. Telling you I love it would be a understatement. I need to search for the rest.....

Your 2 kitties peeking out in the color wash squares are just too cute. Your color purple in the flowers captures the eye ~ great WOW factor. Good job. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for all the kind words. Glad you like it. THe flowers are four layers of cutting on each. Clear up to the little black pieces in the middle. It's hard on my back and neck to do all that little stuff. Today I'm gonna start on the Sunflower block # 10. I'll put a link in here to the other 2 blocks so you can look at those. I think I have all 3 one one link.

    Thanks again,

I'd like it more if it didn't make my back and neck hurt for working so long on cutting. I still don't know what to use for the borders. I need to have them around each piece and one on the outside once all 12 are done. I want a color that will pop. Maybe yellow? Just don't know. I'd make a striped border if I had enough fabric but there just isn't much left after cutting.

I think you just have to lay them all out and have a good think about the borders - I think the blocks "pop" themselves, and you won't want to take anything away from the impact of the blocks - but equally the borders will need to make a statement as well. How is the order of the blocks decided?

They are all numbered and 3 to a row. If you do it like the pattern shows.

You can look at it all at Whims Watercolor Quilts:

I like that illustration - the sashings & border look like a very dark green (with a leaf motif?). Something like that really shows up the beautiful colours of the blocks - quite dramatic. I do like the white squares as well, but that's a personal choice.
