Default Herringbone Toddler Quilt - My Second Finish

Just wanted to share pics of my second completed quilt. Coincidentally, it was made for my niece's second birthday. I was able to use many of the same fabrics I used in my first quilt (see Follow-up on First Quilt & Lessons Learned) with the addition of the orange prints, the gray linen blend background and the bird print backing. I was really happy with the bird print as binding. Seemed like the perfect finishing touch...

Squaring up the HST blocks resulted in much more precise piecing than my first project!

That is a beautiful quilt. I agree that the bird print is a great backing and an especially nice binding. I adds a nice 'zing' to your quilt. I admire the fact that you took time and opportunity to critic your work so far and see places that you could improve your techniques and move forward. I think you have a great quilting future and I hope you will keep sharing with us.

Nice work. Your niece will love it. I agree, trimming makes all the difference when working with hst's.

I love it! Love that you used gray as the neutral. Looks awesome with all the brights.
