What an undertaking... you must have plenty of patience. I'm not sure I would be ready for a project like that for sometime. I have just learned to paper piece earlier this year.

It is absolutely beautiful and can't wait to see you post photos of your finished project.

I like your reason for posting now instead of later and "I am afraid hand quilting might push 'done' into the next decade!!" is funny!

I love some of the fabrics and it looks like you are doing a great job! Keep at it and I hope I'm still here when it is finished!

Oh my you are a brave lady! 1/2 inch hexies! It is so beautiful. I would imagine you have seen the Insanity Quilt? It to was made with .5 hexies, but I must say, your design layout is by far the best! I have done a few 1/2 inch hexie "flowers" to use on borders, and know I would not do a whole quilt with them! I use 1 inch, but have been considering 3/4 inch, if I live long enough. I like your idea of appliqueing the borders. And, I do think your beautiful quilt deserves to be hand quilted. Hoping to see more of this lovely WIP.

Great job!!! A Lady talked me into hand quilting a queen size flower garden, it was the most boring quilt I have ever quilted. The problem is ever 4 or 5 stitches it's time to turn. On the other hand after all that hand work, Do you really have a choice? The end result will be worth it.
