I agree this is very clever. What technique did you use to quilt the wildlife? It stands out just enough to notice but it looks like it is a bit heavier then the other quilting. I curiosity is piqued!

The fabric has pine bark, moss, pine cones, animal tracks, and dead ferns (I guess they are dead; the fabric is gold). The mammals are:

1. bear
2. squirrel
3. rabbit
4. nutria
5. mouse
6. short-tail shrew
7. bobcat
8. coyote
9. skunk
10. raccoon
11. opossum
12. bat
13. otter
14. armadillo
15. fox
16. deer
17. elk
18. beaver
What a beautiful and clever work of art!

Trial and Error! I copied animal pictures off the internet and then sized them in my word processor. Then I FMQ around them on individual blocks using extra batting and a dryer sheet back. That didn't show up enough so I then used a close zigzag stitch to outline them. After I put the quilt together, I FMQ around them again. I tried quilting more in the blocks to make them stand out more, but my skill is lacking and I had to rip it out.
