I did raw edge applique(Heat and Bond) with a satin stitch. I did a block first and threw it in every laundry load for a week. It took a beating and the edges hadn't frayed so I felt good about that!

I can't find it at Connecting Threads but I did find it here: http://www.brandywine-design.com/patterns.htm I have ordered from them before and they were good to deal with.
