Default HST Baby Quilt

I don't have a lot of baby/juvenile fabric in my stash, so I kind of have to find a pattern that works with the limited amount of the specific themed fabric I want to work with. After finally deciding what pattern I would make, I also had to decide on the alternate fabric. I chose a brown that matched a lot of the browns in the focus fabrics. I thought this would be a good choice for a quilt geared for a boy. After I sewed all my HST and layed out the quilt, I realized that I did Not like the brown I chose! I have lots of yellows in my stash, which in hindsight I think I would have been happier with. At that point I was not about to un-sew all those HST so I just forged ahead. I have been wanting to do a spiral quilt motif, so I figured this was the perfect time to try...on a quilt that already seemed like a "miss" to me. I must admit that the quilting did improve it, but I'm just not sure how I feel about gifting this one. A learning experience from start to finish :-)

I like it too. It appears to have "movement" which a baby will like. Thanks for sharing.

I don't know why people always seem so negative about brown. I love brown in a quilt! I think it's great for a baby. It would look darling in a crib with a brown teddy sitting in the corner, and a tousled head of hair peeking out warmly from under it.

I really like your quilting and I think it would be a great boy quilt.

I like the quilt a lot! I can see a little boy placing his cars along the brown paths. I like the brown contrast with the blue. Great job using your stash!

I like it a lot too. The bears are cute and it looks boyish with the brown. I love the circular quilting!
