I am making this Hunter's Star quilt for a graduation present for my nephew in Virginia. His high school colors are orange and blue. I have always loved this pattern but had never tried it before. I wanted something that I could do fairly quickly so I decided to make mine using a 12 inch block so that the "star" block would actually be 24". I found a few different ideas about the Hunter's Star online and combined them to make my own pattern/instructions. It went together pretty quickly and was easy to do. Now just to finish it by quilting it and hopefully I can deliver it in person in August.

    Thanks,
    Sherryl

So beautiful. Love the colors and this pattern. It is still a bit beyond me, but hope to make a Hunter's Star some day. Thank you for sharing.

Very nice! You are so talented to make the squares/stars bigger than what the patterns are using! You did a great job! I can't wait to see it quilted!!

No, I drew up the one block that you make over and over for the size of block I wanted and just got all my other dimensions from that. I was really rather easy.

I've made that pattern twice. One was 2 colors and one was 3 colors. Both turned out great, too. I think it is one of the more "masculine" patterns available. Both of mine were for men, too. HE WILL LOVE IT!
