Lucky you. I have one similar, a 15-91. You will love the perfect straight stitch. My needed a cleaning, oiling, etc. I joined the Singer Yahoo group. They have a wealth of info about maintenance, and importantly about what (oil, grease, cleaners, etc.) to use and not to use. Enjoy your new baby.

thank you katier, that is interesting reading both sites. this one is really dirty - that's why i'm asking for help in cleaning it. there's a little plate on the front right behind the bobbin threader and that number is EE885464. then on back of motor it says this:
CAT.NO.BA3-8
S.S. AU52-17-1
inger Manufacturing Co.
Elizabethport, NJ
SIMANCO
and here's a pic of the fancy plate on end.

Join Yahoo, may have to wait for ok. Then I would suggest you join the Vintage Singer group first. They will send you an email when you're accepted. Search the group for info you want, or you can post a question. There is also a Singer group.
