What an absolutely beautiful quilt! I am usually not a big fan of anything red but the red in your quilt just makes it pop. Really lovely! Like the little black border (or is that piping?) also. I can see why this won both awards.

congratulations on your well deserved ribbons. I hope you come back and tell us a little more about your construction. I too would like to know if this is raw edge applique or turned edge applique. did you do the applique by hand or machine?
Did you quilt this yourself or send it out? What kind of batting did you use? It really is a beauty and you did a fabulous job with your scrappy fabric selections.
