I love needle turn applique Hawaiian blocks. If you are interested there is a great website for patterns and supplies. It ispacific rim quilt company at www.prqc.com. jam currently making a centerblock of turtles surrounded by dolphins. The other blocks will all be Hawaiian. I am having fun with mine and I do them when watching Tv and don't want to be in my sewing room. The 41" vented has taken me about a week and I am about half. Done and I find it very relaxing.

Awesome site! Makes my attempt look like what it is - a beginner's - hahaha - but what fun it was and I LOVE how it turned out. I'm working on the tote back and sides now...to be continued...

It's gorgeous, and almost...almost sounds too easy! I'm guessing fabric doesn't cooperate as easily as paper when folding and cutting such intricate patterns. You did a wonderful job!

I did a similar design years ago. Haven't made mine into anything yet, it's still just a block. I love Hawaiian quilts and have every intention of someday making a full-size quilt.
