I don't think it really matters, both sides are beautiful.

i am guessing that the second picture is the (official) front, just by the amount of piecing, both sides are great! i tend to do that alot, make both sides a quilt...twice the bang for the buck ;)

Here's the story. I bought a kit at a quilt show (many moons ago). It was supposed to be for a large one block log cabin. I figured I could to that. It should have a scalloped edge, but I wasn't there yet in my sewing skills. Anyways, I thought I was buying a kit for just a standard double size bed. The back is made from all the left over fabric. I don't know if the vendor labeled the kit wrong or what. Seriously, with what I know now and all that fabric, I would have been much more creative ;-)
