I use fusible interfacing onto the satin before I sew.
I made the tree of life with a sandwich block. I wrote the pattern with air eraseble pen.
The whole blanket made of individual blocks. I will sent(on this site) pictures for details! When I sewn a metal-thread, I used a metal-needle, I tried a lot to succeed!
I wish you much patience and a successful, enjoyable work! I did this.
PS. If you are using a satin-cotton, no need to use fusible interfacing!
If you need more details I will send more pictures.

The quilts and pillows are just beautiful. I would like to make a satin quilt sometime. Just have to get better with my quilting first.
