    I don't see why not, but you won't need batting then. i used warm and natural . this one is reaaally going to be wrm i think. maybe a big button hole and big red button, or velcro, so it satys closed for him. I always hated when grandma knotted them around my neck! yiKees!

    mine measures 5" x 35" finished.

    i will have to wash it with a color catcher, because the red is a batik, and i want the ends to chenille up before i give it to him...Batiks are the fabric i pre-wash. but i didn't want to wash scraps first.

    I saw a scrappy scarf made and what they did was put a very large button hole on one side so that the scarf coud be threaded through and no knot needed to hold it together.

    I like the fleece idea.
