I made a "lover's knot" quilt 7 years ago on a quilting vacation with my friend, Wanda. She has admired it and drooled over it for 7 years and I decided to have it quilted and give it to her this year for a surprise. Now all I need is a name for the label. I wanted it to say something about Gatlinburg because that's where we went for that first quilting vacation. We go on a quilting vacation every year now. Also, I had problems with it and we joked about how I did NOT love this Lover's Knot pattern. I had to take it apart several times to turn a block around so the knot would form the way it should. For the life of me, I cannot think of a name that includes Gatlinburg, something about our friendship, and not loving that quilt! Any ideas?

Call it a Pink Friendship Gatlinburg Knot. I wouldn't mention that you don't like it.... it would cast a shadow on the quilt. you know it, & she knows it - leave it at that. Friendships are like quilting - sometimes you have problems but you work it out.

Thank you! maybe Gatlinburg Friendship Knot. Someone also suggested "the knot that binds" but I kinda want Gatlinburg in the name.

Assuming you are referring to the Gatlinburg in Tennessee, I vote for Tennessee Treasure. Which I feel refers both to Gatlinburg, TN and your friendship together.

Yes, Gatlinburg TN. We both made a trip around the world with fabrics we bought on that trip and she named hers "Tennessee Trekkin" so she already has a quilt with Tennessee in the name. We went through a little town called "Cobly Knob" several times on the way to Halloways Quilt shop. I'd crack up every time I saw the Cobly Knob sign, so I named mine "Trip around Cobly Knob."
