Default Idea Before Design-Finished!

Thanks for all the suggestions for finishing this quilt. I added a border of the virgin butterfly fabric and then the purplish sashing. It looked so plain after quilting in the ditches, so I bit the bullet and tried the cross-hatch quilting on the outer border. Then I got brave enough to stitch around the occasional butterfly. I'm ecstatic about my new skills. Not quite ready to use rulers on quilts....yet. Any advice tips welcomed! I also show a close-up of my binding method of folding the top to the back and autostitching-I chose colorful thread and love the effect with the butterflies.

Isn't it fun to learn a new skill. Your quilt is grand! So colorful and your choice of the butterflies makes this quilt fly into the skies of summertime. Well done and quilting is lovely.
