Okay--tell me--the uninformed more! It's a Bernina?? Does it do both embroidery and quilt? What are the special features that make it to drool over? I guess I could look it up somewhere, but it's more fun to hear it from all of you!! Congrats! New machines are so much fun! Giggle while you sew!

My husband surprised me with the Bernina 820 last Christmas!! I have not been off of it for over a year! I love it so much...You will too....If they offer you a class definitely take it. This machine does so much and I still find things I didn't know it was capable of...

Have so much fun and Enjoy your new toy!!!

I have the same machine and the same cabinet. I left the machine table attached, but discovered I have to raise the machine everytime I wanted to change the bobbin. Also it is so heavy my cabinet shelf wanted to drop slightly with the weight. A friend actually ordered a new heavy duty lift for her cabinet for that machine. I have now put my machine on a different desk until I decide about getting the heavier lift. Do you have any problems with the weight on the cabinet shelf? I even locked the lift but it still did not want to handle the weight of the 820.
