My friend gave me the three cross stitch blocks about 25 yrs. ago. She framed them and I did have them hanging on the wall for years, but do not have the wall space for them in our retirement home, and certainly would not get rid of them, so I decided to put them in a sofa size quilt to enjoy for another 25 years. I took the colors out of the cross stitch blocks and to find the size of block I needed I folded the cross stitch blocks in half twice and that gave me the size rectangle block I needed to go with the cross stitch blocks. Worked out great.

It took some thinking as to just where to place them. I hope I did well.

What a great idea! I'm so happy that you shared this. I just happen to have 3 cross stitched nursery rhymes that I did years ago but never framed or used in any way. Since I started quilting, I've been looking for the perfect way to use them and you may have just given me the inspiration I needed. Thanks!

That is a good idea. I wouldn't want to get rid of the either.
Very pretty quilt.
