    Infinity Quilt

My SIL requested a special quilt. The wishes were purple, simple with no flowers and an infinity symbol somehow used. As I was leaving, she trust a pair of worn fleece pajama bottoms at me. Her dad died recently and she really misses him. Could I somehow incorporate these pajamas into the quilt? It took me a while to come up with a design. I found a tutorial on utube for the infinity part, but because of the size request, I had to make four of them and join it. I chose a batik purple and contrasting grays for the stripes. The use of the pajamas took a little longer to figure out. I decided to make machine hearts and made a row of them. It feels kind of soft with the fleece hearts. I forgot to take a picture, but I did make her matching large pillows to tie it all in. It was a big hit and she cried when she saw it.

I think you hit the 'mark' exceeding well. I think you incorporated the requested elements beautifully. And, I am glad that it was so well received after all of your hard work.

I can see why she cried, and was so pleased with it as are you. It turned out beautifully. You inspired me to keep in mind using some fabric I cut out of my parents clothes after they passed away. I will be able to use some of it for maybe a special pillow for myself and my two sisters.
Also, your quilting is very nice.
    Thank you for sharing this.

That is such a nice creative use of the pajamas. When I was reading, I had a flash of asking"how on earth is she going to do that?"

Very nice quilt and love the way you incorporated her dad's pj's. A heart is so symbolic of love so I am sure this will feel like her dad is giving her a hub. Beautiful quilt and creative idea. Thank you for sharing this story.

You worked a miracle with this quilt! QuiltMom2's comment (When I was reading, I had a flash of asking"how on earth is she going to do that?") is exactly what I was thinking. It is perfectly beautiful.

Oh my, you did a great job! You found the perfect design to showcase the flannel. I like how you framed the hearts with the purple, too.
