Interactive Quilts
#1
I've been making some quilts and quilted objects that are interactive and meant to be not only fun, but also educational.
The numbers quilt helps recognize numbers and can also be used to teach math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, etc. I've made this a game by having kids toss a bean bag a couple of times and then add, subtract, etc. the numbers they hit. They have fun and learrn at the same time. I've made the same quilt but with the alphabet and it can be used in the same manner. I sewed a pocket to the back side to hold the bean bags. These can be as big or little as you like and they use up a bunch of stash fabric, which is always a good thing. :-)

Here's a pumpkin placemat (Pumpkin Grins by Quilt in a Day). You can mix and match the face parts.

The placemat was great this morning for entertaining a very hungry three year old grandchild!
