I want to thank everyone for their wonderful comments on my quilt. You know, I just have always wanted to do the "Irish Chain" pattern and when I saw this one, I had to make it. I hand quilted it and hand stitched all the yo-yo's and leaves on. I use a
round hoop frame, set it upon my bed, which is on risers, pull up a chair and it's the right height for me to quilt.
I suggest if one were to make this quilt, that one should machine applique the yo-yo's on before sewing the blocks together. Duh! You learn from experience. LOL

This is beautiful. I absolutely love the colors.
I started making yo yo's last summer using vintage prints. Going to make a quilt...(right) I have around 100 done and haven't sewn another. I was excited to see this thinking...oh..great use for my yo-yo's. Went to Fons & Porter to purchase the pattern. It is only available if you subscribe to the magazine...Grrr....

I already went to Fons & Porter. The only way you can get the pattern is to subscribe to a magazine. I did find an irish chain pattern for free on the net here is the link.

    http://www.quilt.com/Blocks/IrishChain/IrishChain.html

There are three different versions. I am pretty sure the double irish chain is the same as this version. This quilt uses 6 different colors but the pattern looks the same. It is just in the arrangement of the colors.
