I haven't turned on my sewing machine in a few months. I just lost interest in it. But my best friend has been going through a horrible situation, and I thought it would be a perfect time to make her something. She loves orange flowers, so I made her this. I enjoyed making it so much that I have another wall quilt planned already. Just wanted to show it off. I think it turned out beautiful. And she loved it! It's called "Mellanie's Flowers" for my best friend Mellanie.

It's a pattern in quick quilts magazine (This month's issue). It has pink for the cone flowers and used all batiks. I'm on a limited budget so mine was made with cotton and orange for the flowers. I added the right side and bottom on my own. I wanted to make sure the orange stood out.

This is gorgeous. You did a fantastic job and I'm sure that your friend will be thrilled by your kind and thoughtful gesture. I'm sure you know as a friend you are a "keeper." Lucky Her!
